About the product
Replacement lens for your Gloworm Light. The X2 and XS use a single lens, while the CX and Alpha share the same dual-lens design.
Spot (96% efficiency / FWHM 17 degrees) – The Spot optic provides the narrowest beam. It is also the most efficient and delivers the highest light output. It can be paired with another lens to achieve maximum output and therefore the greatest beam distance. This configuration is best used on a helmet to illuminate the trail or spot the exit of a corner. Alternatively, the Spot lens can be replaced with another optic to create a different beam pattern.
Flood (84% efficiency / FWHM 25 degrees) – The Flood lens is the best option for a smooth, diffused light pattern. It spreads the light and smooths it across the beam width, making visibility more comfortable for the eyes and creating even illumination from left to right. A pair of Flood lenses would provide smooth lighting, but a significant amount of light output would be lost compared with a pair of Spot lenses. FLOOD is best used in combination with a SPOT or WIDE lens.
Wide (87% efficiency / FWHM 40 degrees) – This lens produces a wide, rectangular beam. It uses the available light output to provide more peripheral illumination and less light along the vertical axis. Although it is not as optically efficient as the Spot lens, it delivers very good output for a wide-angle optic. Two Wide lenses can be combined to create an excellent setup for road use, while combining a WIDE lens with a FLOOD or SPOT lens can create an effective hybrid beam.
Honeycomb (87% efficiency / FWHM 30 degrees) – Designed for use with the XSV system, this lens produces a smooth, diffused light pattern when used with two Spot lenses or another Honeycomb lens. It spreads the light and smooths it across the beam width, making it more comfortable for the eyes and creating a more even transition from the centre of the bright beam.
